This year The Urban Advocate is back in the streets to serve the community for Thanksgiving. The Urban Advocate, along with our promotional partners 97.9 The Beat and Majic 94.5, have teamed up with LD Unlimited, Operation Turkey and For Oak Cliff to provide meals for the homeless and less fortunate in the Oak Cliff area.

At the end of 2019, most people had big dreams for the coming year. All over the internet we saw "#2020Vision"; people were claiming to have a clear vision for the year 2020 and it would be their year for more success and prosperity than they had ever seen in their lives. However, most of everyone's plans and hopes for the year came to a screeching halt within in the first three months due to a potentially life-threatening virus spreading rapidly across the planet forcing the majority of the Earth's population into quarantine. According to reports, not only has this virus claimed hundreds of thousands of lives all over the world to-date but it has quite possibly caused irreversible damage to the world's economy. Companies have been forced to shut down, unemployment rates are an all time high and people are struggling to find out how they're going to make ends meet. One can't help but wonder if anyone saw that coming with their #2020Vision?
