 This year The Urban Advocate is back in the streets to serve the community for Thanksgiving. The Urban Advocate, along with our promotional partners 97.9 The Beat and Majic 94.5, have teamed up with LD Unlimited, Operation Turkey and For Oak Cliff to provide meals for the homeless and less fortunate in the Oak Cliff area.

When you're in the entertainment industry, you rarely come across genuine people. In 2011, I was introduced to a local event promoter, host and comedian. Over the years, as we began working together he always remained one of the most humble, giving and supportive brothers on the Dallas entertainment scene. Even after being seen two reality television shows with his future wife, the legendary DJ Spinderella, Q Coleman is still as humble as a brother that I met all those years ago.
 There's something to be said for a rapper who can continue to drop good music after over a decade into his career. While most rappers run out of gas around year five, JACE appears to be going the distance and isn't showing any signs of stopping soon.
 From the time Eclipse Darkness first came to our knowledge on a song called "Emergency", he has been one of the most impressive emcees in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Since then, Eclipse has remained active and consistently elevating his talents, his music and his fan base.
 It's not much of a secret that parenting in 2020 is much different than it was for those of us who were born last millennium. Things that were acceptable back in those times would be heavily frowned upon, and in many cases, would even be illegal in this day and time. So what effect does that have on the current generation?
