For the second consecutive year, The Urban Advocate along with our philanthropy partners, CounterCulture, will be volunteering for "Breakfast with the Residents" on Christmas morning! This annual event brings volunteers from the Dallas-Ft. Worth area to pass out Christmas presents and serve breakfast to some of the youth that are incarcerated at Dallas County's Juvenile detention center.
Last year, CounterCulture along with dozens of other volunteers took part in this event including Pastor Rickie Rush, the senior pastor of Inspiring Body of Christ Church (a.k.a IBOC) and Dallas County Commissioner, John Wiley Price. The organizers of this event were also given a Resolution to recognize the work that's being done through this event and many others.
Since 2012, The Urban Advocate has been partners with CounterCulture, and remains dedicated to supporting it's efforts to make an impact in the lives of the homeless, elderly and the young men and women that are incarcerated in the North Texas area.
