It's Halloween time people! Now I personally don't celebrate Halloween, but I don't see anything wrong with stepping out and enjoying the festivities in a positive manner if that's your thing. Over the years, rap music has even embraced fright night with it's fair share of horror themed songs and videos. So for those out there celebrating pumpkin day, here is The Urban Advocate's Top 5 Halloween Videos! Who would've thought that a trip to a haunted house could turn into one of the best parties captured on film in the 90s?! Now obviously, this song isn't scary and neither is the video, but the video does capture a trip to a haunted house which is Halloween themed. What happens after that is a party I'm sure we all wish we could've attended back in the day! Besides, throw this jam in the mix at any Halloween party and I'm sure it'll get all those ghosts and goblins dancing! 4. Epmd ft. Redman, Method Man and Lady Luck- Symphony 2000 Another joint that's not scary. But it features some of East Coasts hip-hop heavyweights delivering verses while reenacting scenes from some horror film classics! The video even starts and ends with Method Man tucking his son in the bed while telling him a scary story. Play this joint at your Halloween jam and yeah it'll get those heads nodding! 3. Geto Boys- My Mind Playing Tricks On Me "This year Halloween fell on the weekend/Me and the Geto Boys went trick or treatin'." What hip-hop fan could ever forget that classic line? This video used to scare me when I was a child. Well, Bushwick Bill scared me. I thought he was like a real life black leprechaun! But as I got older this ended up becoming one of my favorite songs and videos from that time period in rap. This is definitely a joint to throw into your Halloween mix! 2. Dr. Dre ft. Ice CuBe- Natural Born Killaz I don't condone murder or senseless violence, but this is a classic! The song by itself will have all the zombies C-Walking across the dance floor on fright night. The visuals in the video comes off more like a horror film about 2 deranged mass murders. Ice Cube and Dr. Dre were in rare form with this one! The reason for picking this one is obvious! How can you do a list like this one without including one of the most influential icons in rap music history with one of the biggest songs of his career. This video was released after Tupac was killed and this video played on people's suspicion that either he faked his death or that he was coming back from the dead. The latter scenario played out in this video as Tupac rose from the grave to seek revenge on those responsible for his death. Classic song with a good video!
